Civita di Bagnoregio: the city that dies
It is a unique awful experience.
It is connect to the civilized world only by a tight and lon
bridge. "The city that dies" has been so called for many times
because of the slow slandslide of tuff walls.
It has a small group of medioeval houses and just few families
live there.
The city leans on a hill and overtops imperiously the great
valley, and offers to the visitors an enchanting and
unforgiveble landscape. |

Palazzo Papale (Viterbo)
It is one of the most important gothic monuments of the city.
It has built in the second half of XIII sec. The facade has a
great staircase and some battlementes on the top. The facade
has six double lancet windows linked by a frame. The elegant
loggia is composed by seven archs supported by exile columns
weaved each other. Many cumclave had placed in the Palace, in
particular the cumclave of 1271 is remembred as the longest in
the Church hystory. It ended, after 33 months of papal
vacancies, with the election of Gregorio X. |

S. Pellegrino subur (Viterbo)
It is a real treasure of XIII sec. It maintain the unchanged
medioeval appearance; little squares, little ways, towers,
archs, houses with "profferli" (outdoors stairs), all together
create a picturesque and suggestive atmosphere, You cannot
escape from it.
The core of the suburb is San Pellegrino square, near the
Saint Church and Palazzo degli Alessandri. The Great Fountain,
buit in XIII sec. and then renovated, is the most famous and
maybe the most beutiful fountain among the several viterbesi
fountains with overlapped bowls (Fontana dei Leoni, Fontana
della Morte). |

Tarquinia history, mother city of Etruria, is Etruscans
hystory. The mith tells the child Tagete apparition, born from

Bolsena lake
It is situated in the upper part of Lazio, in the main caldera
of Vulsinio Vulcan. It has an elliptical form, It is 114,5 Km
wide and 151 m deep, its perimeter is 43 Km long.In the middle
there are two islands, Bisentina and Martana, that maybe are
ancient volcan opening. All around there are Vulsini mountains.
The lake is flowed by rains and by many little rivers. The
only bayou is the Marta river that ends in Tirreno Sea. Along
the banks there are many oak trees, oak chestnut, olive tree
groves, wineries and vegetables-growing. Among several
turistic attractions the most important is archaeological
attraction. Along the banks lived Villanoviana culture,
Etruscan culture and Roman culture. All the cities around have
medioeval carachteristics. You can trust interesting even town
festivals and cooking festivals. Many of you probably will go
there just for fun and to play windsurf, sailing boat or
fishing in the lake. Bolsena Lake is the most big lake of

Monsters park (Bomarzo)
The origin is far away, but Vicino Orsini, born in this land
in 1523, built almost interesting and beutiful things that are
there. He was a romantic man, a Papal State leader. When He
camw back from wars built in the valley underneath the castle,
in a wonderful park, many bizare and freaky sculptures. Then
the name "Monsters Park".
When his wife Giulia Farnese died, He built, on her memory, a
little temple where, on his demand, all the priests should had
commemorated her during the Mass. |

Villa Lante (Bagnaia)
Everybody visits Tuscia cannot loose Bagnaia and his Villa,
built in XVI sec. near the ancient walls.
You can go in "Bagnaia inside", as it's called by inhabitants
referring to the anciest part of the village, through a
door-gallery that is setted in Castle walls. The Castle is
situated on the top of Pierina Valley, in the middle of the
ancient village on a rocky promontory to have a strong defence,
called Castrum. We have news of it since 963 a.C. The village
has called Bangaria, (maybe a longobardo name), then Bagnaja,
finally Bagnaia.Inside the wall theris still an ancient
atmosphere thanks to little ways, palaces of Medioevo and of
the Rainassance, saracen art recalls.
In 1567 Tommasso Ghinucci, an architect from Siena, gave
emphasis to "Bagnaia outdoor", to XX Settembre Square and to
the three road inspired to the trident in Piazza del Popolo in
Rome. |

Palazzo Farnese (Caprarola)
Caprarola is situated on southern side of Monti Cimini, It has
a beutiful landscape on Tevere Valley. It is so wonderful that
Prince Carlo of England Architectural School studied these
places in 1995.
Altough all the territory is rich of etruscan settlements,
Caprarola was born in X sec because of Monti Cimini were close
and impenetrable woods, called Selva Cimina and linked to
monsters legend.
This fact retarded settlements and Romans. During the Middle
Age the were many conflicts between feudal lords, the Di Vico,
the Orsini, the Anguillara sheded blood.

di Castro was founded expanding His properties with castles
and villas.
In Caprarola was built the Villa, symbol of richness and power
